The layers in a landscape which are established over time can be noted with careful observation.
Timescapes is a body of work depicting the unique landscapes of Cairns and Port Douglas, and the places in between. Layers of stories, travel, experiences, weather, photographs and time are embedded in the process of painting. These paintings suggest a sense of place and how relationships can be built with the natural environment. By shifting the usual perspective of our surroundings we can rethink the familiar landscape and locate ourselves within it.
Timescapes was the resulting exhibition of Jacqueline’s Creative Industries with Honours degree studied at James Cook University, Cairns. The exhibition was held at the Tanks Gallery in the Botanical Gardens, Cairns.
